PRIDE of the Eastsiders!!!

How much do you love Eastside Memorial, East Austin Schools, and the East Austin Community?

Tell Commissoner Michael Williams your story via email, phone, fax, and/or hand-written letter. Tell everyone you can to do the same, and please also contact Organizations to send letterhead representing their support for Johns Hopkins as the new partner for Eastside Memorial. Don’t wait. Also, please copy prideofeastside@hotmail.com so we can share your letter of support with this incredible community of people who love public education for ALL kids!

And Thank You, Toni Rayner, Eastside Memorial Leader and Mother of two Eastside students, for your encouragement:

“Dear Panther Pride Friends,

We are not quite done. All of our work comes down to the up/down decision of TEA Commissioner, Mr. Michael Williams.

commissioner@tea.state.tx.us

TEA phone number = (512) 463-9734
1701 N. Congress Avenue, Austin TX 78701

Tell him you support the new RFP process that chose Johns Hopkins to partner with EMHS.
And any other encouragement that you can to help our Eastside Panthers family.

Also, feel free to contact others that you believe support our Panthers: TX Legislators, media folks, neighborhood groups, etc. Thanks!

And Thank You so much for your steadfast support of our kids.

! PAWS UP !
:-D
Toni Rayner “

No espere.

commissioner@tea.state.tx.us

TEA = número de teléfono (512) 463-9734
1701 N. Congress Avenue, Austin TX 78701

Community and Committee Back Johns Hopkins as Eastside Partner

Austin ISD trustees are poised to vote tonight on a proposal to bring Johns Hopkins Talent Development Secondary program to help turn Eastside Memorial High School around. Yet this plan, which the district’s evaluation committee notes has “overwhelming community support”, still must win over Commissioner of Education Michael Williams and, seemingly, AISD Superintendent Meria Carstarphen.

Austin school board faces tough choices with underenrolled...

Trustee Ann Teich, a retired teacher elected to the school board in November, says that success could be duplicated at other campuses. “I’m not an advocate of closing underenrolled schools at all,” Teich said. “We need to figure out a way to attract students back to them. It will take some time.”

Phillips: This time pick a partner up to the job of turning...

Eastside Memorial students deserve to be at the top of that list. Their leg of the stool, chipped and broken for so long, warrants an immediate fix. That means hiring a partner that prioritizes the needs of Eastside Memorial students.
