July 29 Update

We invite you to:

PRIDE of the Eastside’s next General Meeting, with Occupy AISD and TX Parents Opt-OUT of State Tests!!!

We will have a joint meeting with Occupy AISD and TX Parents Opt-OUT of State Tests, who are leading the local movement against high-stakes testing in Austin!

Our meeting will include, from 6:30-7:30pm, a Deputization training (http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/pamphlets/deputy.shtml)!

You can get deputized to register voters for the upcoming November election, which will include the School Board election! This is your chance to get deputized, and it’s free!!! Thanks, Eastside Memorial Parent and PTSA President Toni Rayner!!! Don’t be late! Arrive to the meeting no later than 6:15pm! We will start the deputization at exactly 6:30pm.

From 7:30-8:30pm, we will have special guest Patricia Lopez, from the Texas Center for Education Policy (http://www.edb.utexas.edu/tcep/abouttcep.html) speak and answer questions about testing, the politics involved, and alternative forms of assessments.
